Constellation: Lyra
Rate: 20 meteors per hour
Time: just after midnite
The Lyrids are an average shower, usually producing about 20 meteors per hour at their peak. These meteors can produce bright dust trails that last for several seconds. The shower will peak this year on April 21 & 22, although some meteors are usually visible from April 16 - 25. This year, a waning crescent moon will create only a slight distraction, but most of the meteors should be easy to see. Look for meteors radiating from the constellation of Lyra after midnight.
how to find constellation of Lyra?
u guys must look north of nite sky and spot Vega, the brightest star in that constellation.
sape2 yg minat nak tgok meteor leh la tgok pada masa ni....tak yah guna teleskop pon leh dilihat dgn mata kasar...contellation lyra tu terletak arah utara. nk cari dia agak senang, sebab dlm contellation tu ada bintang yg terang (yg kelima paling terang di langit) bernama vega...ni meteor shower yg kedua tahun ni selepas geminids, pada januari lalu...
